Momentum - Day 1

Yesterday's loss to Holy Cross was a wake up call. Today's training session was an opportunity to regroup and refocus. Started off with Quigong Recharge followed by a Naked Warrior PU work out (not ready for 1A/1L just yet). Left the field for a short hike to the conference room. After Coach Barroso completed his post game debriefing we reviewed Gray Cook's FM Warm Up on the big screen then headed to the field to give it a go. Everyone was most impressed with the warm up. Following the WU we dove right into kettle bell training. Today was Military Press day - and we started in a half kneeling position. Ladder of 5 followed by standing same leg MP. After the ladder we prepared for a VO2 Max Protocol - 15/15 x 25. Using the bucket system some new to swings stuck with basic 2AS, we included one hand, loaded, alternating 1 arm, and high pulls for those with good technique. We introduced Jeremy Boone's Bows and Toes circuit to provide our walking wounded with activity. Following the work out we did 10 short cool down sprints, followed by static stretching. With few exceptions the team stayed 45 minutes after their normal training time to complete their Fitness training. We have a long way to go but we are off to a great start.
